August 20th 2019 | Champaign County Shelf Cloud


A morning cluster of thunderstorms in Iowa organized into a bow echo that swept across central Illinois during the late-morning hours of Thursday, August 20th. The bow echo produced spotty wind damage. A funnel cloud was falsely reported on the west side of Champaign which triggered the tornado sirens being activated for Champaign-Urbana.
