May 17th 2020 | Tornado near Macon, Illinois

A rainy MCV produced several rotating storms across central Illinois this afternoon. I tracked one sustained mesocyclone toward the town of Macon. As the storm moved north of Macon and just east of US 51 it produced a surprisingly long-lived, but low contrast tornado that quickly tracked NNE. I observed the tornadic circulation hitting a farmhouse, causing little damage.
